Rated as the number-one high school offensive lineman in the country by various publications, Pape was a two-time All-State selection for the Hornets in 1997 and 1998, and a Parade Magazine First Team All-American. Tony was a two-time All-Big Ten selection for the University of Michigan in 2002 and 2003, and helped lead the Wolverines to the 2003 Big Ten title and Rose Bowl berth. Pape was chosen in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. Pape played for the Berlin Thunder (2005) and Amsterdam Generals (2007) of NFL Europe, earning All-NFL Europe honors.
