CECE CAHILL -- Hinsdale Central |
||||||||||||||
A four-time All-State
singles tennis player, Cahill was a two-time state champion, winning the
singles title at the 1986 and 1987 state meet. CeCe placed third as a
sophomore and seventh as a freshman at the IHSA finals. Cahill would
go on to a storied career at the University of Notre Dame. CeCe became
the first Notre Dame womens' tennis player to advance to the NCAA Division I
singles championships in 1988. Cahill compiled a 65-11 record in singles
competition for the Fighting Irish -- which was the best win-loss record in
school history. CeCe also ranked number-one on the Notre Dame all-time
list for singles dual-match winning percentage -- boasting a 37-6 record.
Cahill's 39 singles wins in 1988 established a university record, which
would stand at the South Bend school for ten years. |
