The 1976 state champion in
the 120-yard high hurdles, Foster would go on to being one of the most
decorated hurlers on the planet. Running for UCLA, Greg would win a pair of
NCAA championships in the 110-meter hurdles in 1978 and 1980, and was the
NCAA 200-meters champion in 1979. Foster would win the silver medal at
the 1984 Olympic Games in the 110-meter hurdles, and became the first person
to capture three consecutive hurdling titles at the IAAF World
Championships, doing so in 1983, 1987 and 1991. Greg was a gold
medalist at the Goodwill Games in 1986, and set the world record in the
50-meter hurdles in 1985. Foster was inducted into the USA Track &
Field Hall of Fame in 1988. |
