MARGIE LEPSI -- Lyons Township |
||||||||||||||
A two-time IHSA singles champion in 1991 and 1993, Lepsi became only the third girls tennis player to advance to the semi-final round of the state meet in four consecutive years, as she finished fourth as a freshman in 1990, and placed second as a junior in 1992. In addition to her individual plaudits, Margie helped lead the Lions to back-to-back-to-back team state titles in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Lepsi had a perfect 32-0 singles record in her senior year, and finished her high school career with an impressive 125-6 win-loss record. At the University of Tennessee Lepsi was a four-time All-American.
