KATELYNNE HART -- Glenbard West |
||||||||||||||
A ten-time state champion, Hart won four straight individual IHSA cross country championships from 2016-2019. Katelynn won the 1600 meter run and the 3200 meter run at the state finals every year from her freshman to junior years. Hart could not defend her crowns in 2020, as the state track meet was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Katelynn was a two-time Illinois Gatorade Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2017 and 2018; and a three-time Illinois Gatorade Track Runner of the Year in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Hart's two-mile time was the tenth fastest in high school history. Hart continued to run track and cross country at the University of Michigan, where she was a first-team All-American in the distance medley relay and and an All-Great Lakes Region performer in cross-country.
