Making the All-State
Basketball Team three straight years at a Blazer, Williams went on to become
a top scorer in college and have a long professional career on the hardwood.
Lenae was named to the Illinois high school All-State Team in 1995, 1996 and
1997. Williams went on to play at DePaul University, where she bacame
only the fourth player in school history to score over 2,000 points in a
career. Lenae set Conference USA records for three-point baskets made
in a career (330), season (94) and a game (8). Williams was an
Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention choice, and was chosen as
the 18th pick overall of the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock.
After one year in the WNBA, Williams played 12 seasons in Europe.
