MARTIN O'DONNELL -- Downers Grove South |
||||||||||||||
A two-time All-State pick
by the Champaign News Gazette in 2001 and 2002, O'Donnell was named the top
offensive lineman in the nation by Parade Magazine on their All-American
Team. Earning three varsity letters on the football and track teams,
Martin recorded 55 pancake blocks as a senior, and helped led the Mustangs
to the IHSA Class 8A State Football Championship in 2001. O'Donnell
was a three-year starting left guard for the University of Illinois football
team which played in the 2008 Rose Bowl. Martin was an Academic
All-Big Ten performer and was selected as a first-team All-American by the
Associated Press in 2007. After graduating from college,
O'Donnell chose not to play at the professional level and became the radio
color analyst for Fighting Illini football. |
