RICK HOWAT -- Downers Grove North |

Averaging 32.7 points per
game as a high school senior, Howat was named to the All-State Team, and was
the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year in 1967. Rick set the West
Suburban Conference records of 416 points in a single season and career best
784 points against WSC competition. At the University of Illinois,
Howat was an All Big Ten selection and averaged 20.6 points per game for the
Illini during his senior season. Rick was chosen in the 1971 NBA Draft
by the Milwaukee Bucks, but did not play professionally. Howat, who
would later be the head coach at Addison-Trail High School, was inducted
into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a player in
1976. |
