A 1988 All-West Suburban
Conference selection in both basketball and soccer, Granato attended
Providence College and became the school's all-time leading scorer in ice
hockey. Cammi was the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of
the Year for three straight seasons from 1991-1993. Granato was named
USA Player of the Year in 1996, and was captain of the U.S. womens' hockey
team that won a gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
In 205 career games, Cammi had 186 goals, 157 assists and 343 points --
becoming the U.S. National Team's all-time leading scorer. In 2010,
Granato became one of two women to be the first inducted into the Hockey
Hall of Fame. Granato worked for the Seattle Kraken as the the first
female professional scout in NHL history, and served the Vancouver Canucks
as Assistant General Manager. |
