A 2008 McDonald's
All-American and Parade Magazine All-American, Shumpert guided the Huskies
to three consecutive West Suburban Conference basketball championships and
was named as the top player in the Silver Division in his junior and senior
seasons. In his third year at Georgia Tech, Iman became only the
seventh player in Atlantic Coast Conference history to lead his team in
scoring, rebounding and assists. Shumpert declared for the NBA after
his junior season and was selected in the first round (17th pick overall) of
the 2011 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. Iman was named to the NBA
All-Rookie First Team in 2012. After being traded to Cleveland,
Shumpert re-signed with the Cavaliers to a four-year, $40 million contract,
and would win a World Championship in 2016. Iman also played with the
Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets over his nine-year NBA
career. In 2021 Shumpert and professional partner Daniella Karagach were
crowned winners of the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. |
