ACTS ABOUT THE WSC

First Date of Competition:  January 7, 1924

Original Six Charter Members:  Downers Grove, Glenbard, Hinsdale, Maine, West Chicago and York.

Fifth Oldest Continuous Conference in Illinois behind Chicago Catholic League (1912-1913); Chicago Public League (1913-1914); Northern Illinois Conference (1916-1917); Little Ten Conference (1919-1920) and Southwest Conference (Fall, 1923-1924).

Most IHSA Athletic State Championships Won (as participating as a member of the WSC) than any other conference in the state of Illinois.  The West Suburban Conference has won 259 state titles through end of 2022-2023 school year.

Three members of the NFHS National High School Hall of Fame are representatives from the West Suburban Conference:  Chuck Farina (1987), Joe Newton (2004), and Jan Heiteen (2012).  No other conference in Illinois has as many members in this Hall of Fame.
