JEROME SALLY -- Proviso East |

A defensive lineman in the
National Football League for seven years, Sally was an integral part of
successful teams at both the collegiate and professional levels.
Jerome played at the University of Missouri from 1978 to 1982, where the
Tigers went to four consecutive post-season bowl games for the first time in
school history. Sally recorded 78 tackles in his senior year, and was
signed as a free agent by the New York Giants, where he would would play for
five years as a nose tackle. Jerome tallied seven quarterback sacks in 1985
and would anchor the defensive line of the Super Bowl XXI World Champions
the following season. Sally also played for the Indianapolis Colts and
Kansas City Chiefs. In his 83 games in the NFL, Jerome snared 19-1/2 sacks
and had two fumble recoveries. Sally was inducted into the Missouri
Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. |
