||||||||||||||
After pitching for Morton
High School, Gregerson attended Saint Xavier University where he helped lead
the Tigers to three conference titles and a berth in the 2006 NAIA World
Series. Luke was chosen in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft by the
Saint Louis Cardinals. Gregerson would play for the San Diego Padres,
Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros and the Cardinals in an 11-year major
league career, where he pitched in 646 games. Luke tied a MLB record
with four strikeouts in a single inning; and established an all-time Major
League best 40 holds in a season in 2010. Gregerson was a World Series
champion with the Astros, pitching in two games and striking out two batters
in the 2017 Fall Classic; and recorded three saves as a member of Team USA's
championship squad in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. |
