MARIE BARDA -- Hinsdale South |

A two-time All-State
selection, Barda was one of the most prolific high school softball pitchers
in state history. Marie threw seventeen no-hitters during her
four-year career; set the IHSA state record for strikeouts in a season with
395 in 1996; and struck out 27 batters in a 17-inning game in her junior
year. Marie won 33 games in her senior season, had a miniscule 0.35
earned run average, and set the all-time school record for strikeouts in a
career with 1,288. Barda played at the University of Michigan and was
selected as the Big Ten Conference's Softball Pitcher of the Year in 1999.
