A consensus All-State
selection, Finley was part of the "Three Amigos" that won the 1991 Class AA
state basketball championship for the Pirates. Michael would play
collegiately at the University of Wisconsin where he became the all-time
leading scorer in school history, scoring 2,147 points in 115 games for a
18.7 points per game average. Finley was chosen by the Phoenix Suns as
the 21st overall pick of the 1995 NBA Draft. Michael was named to the
1995-1996 NBA All-Rookie First Team. Finley would later play for the
Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics over a 14-year NBA
career. Finley was a two-time NBA All-Star (2001 and 2002); scored
17,306 over 1,103 regular season games; and won an NBA title with the Spurs
in 2007. |
