CRAIG WILSON -- Leyden |
||||||||||||||
An All-West Suburban
Conference team selection for the Eagles, Wilson went on to an impressive
four-year college career at Kansas State, and played in the Major Leagues
for three seasons. Craig was a three-time All-Big Eight Conference
selection in 1990, 1991 and 1992, and was the Big Eight Conference Player of
the Year as a senior. Wilson earned first team All-American honors
from Baseball America in 1992, becoming the first Wildcat player ever to
earn that recognition. Craig ranks among K-State's top five in
numerous offensive categories, including second all-time in hits (282), runs
scored (191), doubles (58), triples (15) and third in RBI (176).
Wilson was a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Baseball Team and was drafted
by the Chicago White Sox in the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft.
Wilson played professionally for 12 seasons -- three in the Major Leagues
with the White Sox from 1998-2000, where he hit seven home runs and had a
.272 batting average as a middle infielder. |
