JAKE ELLIOTT -- Lyons Township |
||||||||||||||
Elliott began playing
football when a Lyons Township assistant coach noticed Jake's kicking talent
at a Homecoming field goal kicking contest. During his junior
year, Jake earned first team All-State honors and kicked a 52-yard field
goal with no time remaining to beat Oak Park-River Forest. As a
senior, Elliott made 15-of-21 field goals and was named to the Kohl's
All-American list. At the University of Memphis, Jake kicked a
school-record 56-yard field goal, and finished his career with the Tigers as
their all-time leading scorer with 445 points. Elliott was chosen as
the first kicker selected in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
After being cut by Cincinnati, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Jake and he
kicked a 61-yard field goal to beat the New York Giants on the last play of
the game -- which was the longest field goal ever by a rookie kicker in NFL
history. The Eagles would go on to win Super Bowl LII that season and
Elliott kicked a 46-yard field goal -- the longest Super Bowl field goal by
a rookie -- to seal the victory. Jake was selected to play in the NFL
Pro Bowl in 2021. Through the 2022 season, Elliott has scored 640
points in 96 games with the Eagles. |
