KERWIN BADIE -- Proviso West |
||||||||||||||
A four-time track state
champion, Badie won the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash in 1991, and was
state champ in the 100 meters and 4x200 relay in 1992. Kerwin was
chosen as the 1992 Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year. During
his junior and senior seasons, Badie never lost an open race in either
indoor or outdoor track. In his senior year, Kerwin set West Suburban
Conference records in the 55 meter dash (6.1); indoor 200 meters (22.1); 100
meter dash (10.1) and outdoor 200 meter dash (20.9). Through 2023 --
more than 30 years later -- all four records still remain as WSC all-time
bests. Badie played football at the University of Wisconsin, and was a
member of the 1994 Rose Bowl champions. |
