MAEVE NELSON -- Oak Park-River Forest |
||||||||||||||
Leading the Huskies to
back-to-back softball IHSA state championships in 2016 and 2017, Nelson was
a three-time All-State player, and was named to the All-American Team in her
sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Maeve hit over .500 for her high
school career with 149 RBI in her three seasons. Nelson was captain of
OPRF's two-time West Suburban Conference championship basketball teams and
was class valedictorian. Maeve played softball in college for
Northwestern, where she hit 40 home runs, was a two-time All-Big Ten
selection, and played more games at shortstop (243) than any other player in
Wildcats history. Nelson homered in the final at-bat of her career in
the seventh inning of Game 3 of the 2023 NCAA Super Regional. |
