STEVE GROSS -- Hinsdale Central

The winner of nine West Suburban Conference girls basketball championships, Gross energized a quiet program into an explosive state champion.  Prior to Steve's arrival as head coach, the Red Devils had only four seasons in school history with a winning record.  Going 25-2 in his first season in 1994, Gross would win 11 regional championships and capture the 2002 Illinois High School Association state crown.  Gross saw his teams gain WSC titles in 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2008.  The two-year stretch from 2000-2002 saw Hinsdale win 65 of 67 contests.  Gross completed his fifteen-year stint with a 343-85 record.
