JERILYN SCARDINA -- Hinsdale Central
 

The winner of 11 Illinois High School Association girls tennis state titles, Scardina also captured 24 West Suburban Conference championships.  Coaching the Red Devils from 1977 through 2009, Jerilyn had 22 teams that finished in the top three positions at the IHSA state meet.  Scardina won state titles in 1977, 1978, 1979, 1983, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009; earned a second place finish at the state finals six times; and finished third on five other occasions.  Scardina's teams won WSC titles from 1977-1982, 1984, 1987, 1993-2000 and 2002-2009.  Scardina won 29 IHSA sectionals; had a 406-26 win-loss record; was elected to the Illinois Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001; and was the National High School Girls Tennis Coach of the Year in 2007.
