KEVIN SCHMITT -- Daily Herald
 

Covering high school sports for four decades, Schmitt worked for the third largest newspaper in the state of Illinois in terms of circulation.  Kevin worked the sidelines as a reporter for the Daily Herald from November of 1997 through August of 2020.  Schmitt was responsible for primary daily coverage of all schools in the athletic hotbed of the DuPage County area in the sports of football, basketball and baseball. Before working at the Daily Herald full-time, Schmitt spent seven years as a freelance writer covering boys and girls soccer and girls basketball.  Schmitt was a two-time honoree as the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association's Media Person of the Year, and received a similar honor from the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association in 2003.
