REX WHITLACH -- Hinsdale Central
 

The head wrestling coach at Hinsdale Central for 28 years, Whitlach has been inducted into multiple Halls of Fame.  The Hinsdale Holiday Wrestling Tournament, which Rex originated in 1965 and grew from a four-team local event to one of the state's most renown 16-team mega-invitational, was named after him in 1993.  Whitlach was inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Hall of Fame in 1979; and was enshrined into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013 for his lifetime contributions to the sport.
