JOANN PYRITZ -- Lyons Township
 

Coaching volleyball for 55 seasons between the boys and girls programs, Pyritz has over 1,400 victories, 26 West Suburban Conference titles, and two lHSA state championships.  Joann coached girls volleyball from 1989 to 2018, posting a 841-324 record, winning 23 state regional championships, and capturing 18 WSC titles (1990-2004, 2009-2010, 2014).  Pyritz won Illinois High School Association state titles in both 1990 and 2011.  On the boys side, Pyritz coached from 1993 through 2018, compiling a 580-329 win-loss mark, securing 11 regional titles, and winning the conference eight times (1999-2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2013).  Pyritz took the Lions boys team downstate five times, winning four state finals trophies.  Joann also won a state title as a player, on Lyons Township's 1975 state championship team.  Pyritz was named the National Coach of the Year for girls volleyball in 2011.
