BOB SAKAMOTO -- Chicago Tribune / CLTV

The face of prep sports coverage in Chicagoland for over 30 years, Sakamoto was a fixture on the weekly television show "High School Extra".  Bob received an Emmy nomination as co-host for his live on-air show which ran for a decade, that featured highlights, in-show guests, and call-in fans.  Sakamoto wrote for the Chicago Tribune's Preps Plus section, covering all of the big games in just about every sport.  Sakamoto was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame as a media member in 2006, and received the Distinguished Media Service Award from the Illinois High School Association in 2015.
