RANDY CONRAD -- Leyden |

|
A state champion wrestler
while in high school, Conrad returned to his alma mater as Athletic
Director, where he served in that position from 1998 through 2018.
Randy's devotion to the sport of wrestling has been appreciated by many, as
he was selected as the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association
Administrator of the Year in 2000; named Grand Marshall of the 2016 IHSA
State Wrestling Tournament; and was inducted into the National Wrestling
Hall of Fame Illinois Chapter that same year. Conrad served on the
the National Federation of High School's Wrestling Rules Committee; the
Illinois High School Association's Athletic Administrators Advisory
Committee; and was the state final head table supervisor at the IHSA state
wrestling meet for fourteen years. In 2018 Leyden High School named
the annual Eagle Invite Wrestling Tournament as the Randy Conrad
Invitational, and renamed the school's wrestling facility as the Randy
Conrad Wrestling Room. Conrad was inducted into the Illinois Athletic
Directors Association Hall of Fame in 2022. |
