BRUCE RITTER -- Downers Grove North
 

Coaching 12 West Suburban Conference championship teams, Ritter won state titles in girls cross country in 1980 and 1985.  Bruce won the first eight conference cross country titles that were offered by the WSC from 1978-1985.  Ritter also won WSC Silver cross country titles in 1996 & 1997; as well as a pair of WSC Silver track championships in 1992 & 1993.  Ritter's teams finished second at the Illinois High School Association state cross country meet in 1983, 1984 and 1988.  During his tenure, the Trojans established a state record by winning 69 consecutive cross country dual meet victories from 1976 through 1985.  Ritter was inducted into the Illinois Track & Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1988, and the Downers Grove North Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
