DAWN SCHABACKER -- Lyons Township |

The head coach of both the
girls basketball and softball teams for over twenty years each, Schabacker
won 22 IHSA regionals and six IHSA sectionals between the two sports, and
made four trips downstate. Dawn's basketball teams won the West
Suburban Conference four times (1992, 1993, 1999 and 2005) and advanced to
the Illinois High School Association Elite Eight in 1992, 1993, 1996 and
1999. The Lions finished fourth in the state in 1992, and third in the
state in 1993. in twenty years on the hardwood, Schabacker posted a
366-246 record, won 12 regionals and five sectionals. In softball,
Schabacker won 412 games over a 24-year stretch, capturing ten regionals and
one sectional title. |
