MEL KOLBUSZ -- Oak Park-River Forest |

A three-time IHSA softball
state champion coach, Kolbusz won 19 West Suburban Conference titles in a
29-year varsity coaching career. Mel won Illinois High School
Association state titles in 2005, 2016 and 2017. Kolbusz's teams
qualified for the state finals 12 times, and won 23 regional titles.
From 1993 to 2009, the Huskies were crowned WSC Silver Division champions in
14 out of 17 years. Kolbusz compiled a 780-233-2 record -- which ranks
him as the fourth winningest softball coach in Illinois high school history.
Kolbusz was inducted into the Illinois Coaches Hall of Fame for softball in
2014. |
