|
A two-time state champion volleyball coach, Remond captured six West Suburban Conference championships. Shirley won Illinois High School Association state titles in 1978 and 1979 -- and her 1978 team completed the season with a perfect 32-0 record, and became the first Huskies team, in any sport, to be crowned state champions while as a member of the West Suburban Conference. Both Remond's 1980 and 1987 squads finished second in the state. Redmond won WSC titles in 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1986 and 1987, to go along with six IHSA District, six IHSA regional and five IHSA sectional championships.
