CHUCK FARINA -- Leyden |
||||||||||||||
Even though a majority of his career took place prior to the Eagles entry into the West Suburban Conference, Farina made an immediate impact and his legacy continued through the sport for generations. Farina coached wrestling for 36 years, and won WSC championships in Leyden's first three years in the league (1987, 1988, 1989). Chuck compiled a win-loss record of 596-84-7 at Leyden, and captured state meet team trophies eight times at the Illinois High School Association championships. Farina was inducted into the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Hall of Fame in 1973, and was inducted into the National High School Hall of Fame in 1989.
