DICK CARSTENS -- Downers Grove North
 

The head football coach of the Trojans for 29 years, Carstens was a 1986 inductee into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame.  Dick compiled a record of 148-83-8 at the Downers Grove high school, and revolutionized the passing game in an era where most schools ran the ball.  Despite winning only one West Suburban Conference championship, Carstens' undefeated 1969 squad was recognized as the Illinois Mythical State Champions -- as the IHSA football playoffs were still five years away from taking place.  Carstens was a charter member of the Downers Grove North Hall of Fame in 1994.
