Capturing back-to-back
boys basketball state championships, Hitt won the first seven West Suburban
Conference Gold Division titles in league history. Bill's teams won
consecutive Illinois High School Association state titles, with the "Three
Amigos" in 1991 and an undefeated team that finished with a perfect 33-0
record in 1992. Hitt won WSC championships in 1984; and then won Gold
Division championships every year from 1987 through 1993. In his
ten-year varsity coaching career, Hitt compiled a 235-55 win-loss record,
won nine IHSA regionals and three IHSA sectionals.
