A ten-time All-State
gymnast, Demeris won five individual state championships in the sport.
Alexander was the IHSA state meet All-Around champion in 2019. Demeris
won the floor exercise, parallel bars and high bar at the 2019 state finals
competition. Alexander was also the state champ in the floor exercise
in 2018. Demeris would achieve All-State status in four
additional events during his sophomore and junior years, as state runner-up
in the parallel bars in both 2017 and 2018; and medaling two more times in
high bar competition -- finishing in fifth place in 2018 and sixth place in
2017.
